Red Rocks

For the twelve Mountaineers who trekked to the brick and crimson walls of Red Rock Canyon, memories of the nearly two-week adventure inspire both euphoria and gloom. Those beautiful days spent in the sweet desert air are only trumped by the intensity of the Nevada night sky. From the glittering streets of Las Vegas to the steaming Arizona Hot Springs, we became a family.

As is the nature of adventures, no two can be the same. Our journey to Red Rocks cannot be exactly repeated. But, like the towering canyon walls, the friendships it birthed will stand the test of time.

Check out Ada Matusiewicz’s chronicle of our trip above. Come back soon for pictures and a written piece by trip members. Join the Mountaineers on Winter Break 2012 for our next journey to Red Rock Canyon.
