Big Free Climb
One of the club’s most popular events, the Big Free Climb brings together Mountaineers of all climbing levels for a weekend of adventures through the Red River Gorge in Kentucky. Club members at this year’s Big Free Climb in late October experienced some spectacular weather and perfect conditions for climbing, hiking, and general merriment. Seasoned club members were on hand to teach newer climbers the basics of top roping, lead climbing, and the grading system of routes.
